The Dark Side – A Photo Essay

in Confidential on 03/25/10

I would say that 99% of the time, I’m a pretty upbeat person. Okay, maybe it’s like 85%. But I do have a darker side.

Apparently, all it takes is a little dreary, overcast weather for that dark side to come pouring out.

Observe.

“This is what depression looks like.”

Raindrops on my window.

My desk in chaos.

Refugees from the furnace closet that didn’t get put back yesterday.

The book hospital, waiting the attending physician.

Empty toy shelves.

Children still watching Dora. And still in their pajamas. (Mismatched pajamas.)

Empty spots in the fridge.

Rusty lettuce.

Our weed-riven grass and forlorn little tree.

DIY project gone awry.

I call this one “In Search of a Stud.”

My crappy photo skills speak for themselves, but you can imagine the funky smell coming from the new furnace for added ambiance.

Arise, fair sun, and kill the dubious gloom.

I think I must have a Vitamin D deficiency. Maybe I need a supplement. Or lunch.

I wonder how much Vitamin D is in rusty lettuce.
